TripAdvisor on Facebook
TripAdvisor on Facebook loves posting photos and asking questions the answers to which it then ignores – it’s a good filler that takes very little effort on their part.
In general the answers are tripe, but once in a while you get a little gem like this one from Arnold Layne

TripAdvisor won’t let my parents take off their own business off of their site. It’s so annoying, they don’t even ask permission to put your business up in the first place and yet they will allow fake people to leave untrue reveiws.
You are correct – they will only take a business down if it can be shown that it has closed.
We’ve asked them repeatedly. My dad told them to consider us closed , still nothing /:
What do you need to prove that you’re “closed”
Website must be taken down, and the business must not be listed in business annuals, phone directories etc.
And his stay in the London phone booth was obviously a happy one
Yes, but how do you know? Are you and Arnold somehow related, Emily?
I have a problem with a terminated employee repeatedly leaving scathing reviews on our TripAdvisor site. I have written TripAdvisor dozens of times trying to get these reviews removed but have never had even a single response from them. Meantime, their reviews have the potential to do damage to my business. They wont even make even a small effort to look out for the interest of small business but are only trying to make money by providing a free forum for any looney or someone with a grudge to post. Even the game by having friends, family anyone post to TripAdvisor till people realize the site is worthless. They are sowing the seeds of their own destruction.
I like his review of the cottage in Kerry (11th June) too
PMSL – I knew the name was familiar, couldn’t remember why
‘It takes two to know . . . don’t do it again’ – check out the lyrics by Pink Floyd – great pseudonym to post under!!
